REFLECTIONS
Every profession leaves its mark. Court room advocacy taught Andrew Boe that facts matter. Experience taught him that facts alone are rarely enough. People rarely experience events in neat chronological order. Memory is imperfect. Motivation is complex. Justice is seldom experienced in exactly the same way by everyone involved.
Ultimately, it is the truth that matters; even where it hurts to accept what that entails.
Understanding those realities has influenced every aspect of Andrew’s professional life. It also shapes the stories he chooses to tell.
WHY STORY MATTERS
Stories preserve more than events. They preserve perspective.
They allow audiences to experience complexity without demanding certainty. At their best they encourage curiosity rather than judgement.
Andrew believes stories perform an important public function. They allow societies to examine difficult questions without reducing people to simple answers.
That belief continues to guide his work across documentary, publishing and scripted television.
