Stories that matter.

Understanding, not judgement.

Understanding, not judgement.

For almost four decades, Andrew has worked with people when facts are contested, consequences are serious and the story matters. In courtrooms, remote communities, interview rooms and writers’ rooms, the first responsibility is the same: understand the story before attempting to tell it.

The Art of Persuasion.

Persuasion | Storytelling | Cultural and Narrative Integrity | Judgement

Fine lines may need to be drawn

Polemic arguments will often be raised

Institutional forces will at times resist self-reflection

Reasonable minds can differ

Power differentials must be noticed

Each stakeholder must be given their space

Ultimately, the truth matters — even where it hurts

REFLECTIONS

Facts matter. Facts alone are rarely enough.

Facts matter. Facts alone are rarely enough.

Every profession leaves its mark. Court room advocacy taught Andrew Boe that facts matter. Experience taught him that facts alone are rarely enough. People rarely experience events in neat chronological order. Memory is imperfect. Motivation is complex. Justice is seldom experienced in exactly the same way by everyone involved.

Ultimately, it is the truth that matters; even where it hurts to accept what that entails.

Understanding those realities has influenced every aspect of Andrew’s professional life. It also shapes the stories he chooses to tell.

WHY STORY MATTERS

Stories preserve more than events. They preserve perspective.

They allow audiences to experience complexity without demanding certainty. At their best they encourage curiosity rather than judgement.

Andrew believes stories perform an important public function. They allow societies to examine difficult questions without reducing people to simple answers.

That belief continues to guide his work across documentary, publishing and scripted television.
